If you’ve been following along on our six-month road trip, you know that we were less than halfway through when the coronavirus hit the USA.
We decided to continue onto Florida, but not to our original destination of the beach city of St. Petersburg, Florida. We chose to go to a small town in Central Florida on the water instead.
The state of Florida didn’t declare a “shelter in place” rule until about a week into our journey, but we decided to start self-isolating from the beginning and only went in public to get food and supplies.
As you can see above, we have been kayaking, fishing, canoeing, paddleboarding, and of course taking a lot of naps.
We are close to the town of Spring Hill, Florida which has about 100,000 people. Our town is much smaller, and it’s been great to be able to get outside while practicing social distancing.
This is not the Florida we dreamed about, there’s no open beach anywhere near since all the state beaches and parks are closed. The important thing for the world right now is for us all to self-isolate and hopefully, bend the curve of the coronavirus and eventually making it go away entirely.
This is our story, and while our road trip did not go as planned, we are still so happy to have the experience of seeing so much of the USA.
Happy Quarantine Days to you!
